Qi Gong practitioner all know that you breath into the Dan Tien (where Essence and Spirit are stored), however as I do the Ritual I become involved in the movement and allow my focus to drift away from the breath. This is especially true with the arms over the head movements. The natural instinct for me is to breath into the top of the lungs allowing them to fill and not breath into the Dan Tien. I at times need to remind myself that the breath goes to the Dan Tien. Breathing in this manor, not into the Dan Tien, diminishes the benefit of Qi Gong, reduces the circulation of Qi in the body.
To achieve maximum results when you perform your Qi Gong Ritual keep your focus on the breath, consciously draw the breath to the Dan Tien.
