Breath for your Qi Gong Ritual Practice

Breath, this is one of the primary element used for a Qi Gong 18 Style Ritual Practice. How we breath, the way we breath, where we focus the breath is extremely important.
The proper way to breathe while performing your Ritual is:
Place the tip of the tongue on the roof of the mouth.

Tongue Placement

Inhale and Exhale through the Nostrils. Not the mouth.
Inhale from the Perineum (mid-way between the anus and the genitals) drawing the breath up the spine, over the top of the head and into the nostrils. Exhale through the nostrils down the mid-line of the body to the Dan Tien (four fingers below the navel) then internally back to the Perineum. Imagine the breath moving just outside of your body as if in a channel or tube. It is actually. This is the Micro Cosmic Orbit.
With the Inhale the Dan Tien should be expanding. When you Exhale the Dan Tien should contract.
The length of the breath should equal the movement eg, inhale as the arms raise, exhale as they lower etc.
The breath should be smooth, easy and silent.
It is that simple. Yet it is also very powerful.

Me and My Ritual Practice of Qi Gong

For years I have been doing the Qi Gong 18 Style Ritual Practice. I seldom skip a day because I know how powerful and centering it is. The practice has been, for me, a time of Meditation, Contemplation and Inspiration. This is why I’m telling you about my personal experience this morning.

The weather in Arizona this time of year is Beautiful — 57 degrees and clear skies when I did my Ritual Practice this morning. As everyday, I was enjoying being with my Qi Gong. However, as I moved through the 18 Movements, I found myself thinking about what was going on in my day to day life and feeling stressed. It was as though these thoughts were running like a video in my mind. Then it occurred to me… STOP thinking about this…Think about what YOU WANT!  I realized that I was polluting this valuable moment with unproductive, non-serving and unhealthy thoughts. I needed to  STOP!!! Focus on the GOOD. If I must think about something, focus on what I want, not what is going on in my life that is not serving me.

This for me was an Aha Moment. The practice opened me up to an Inspiration, a guide, an awareness of what I need to do to fulfill my wishes, dreams and desires. My thoughts shifted to what I truly desire. The flow of my practice slipped back into being a Meditation. I am So Grateful for what Qi Gong Gives me. This is why I keep practicing.

If you are not currently practicing Qi Gong 18 Style Ritual, think about committing to it for 90 days and see what changes in your Life. What improves for you.

Breath and your Qi Gong Ritual Practice.

Buddha watching over my Qi Gong Ritual Practice

Qi Gong practitioner all know that you breath into the Dan Tien (where Essence and Spirit are stored), however as I do the Ritual I become involved in the movement and allow my focus to drift away from the breath. This is especially true with the arms over the head movements. The natural instinct for me is to breath into the top of the lungs allowing them to fill and not breath into the Dan Tien. I at times need to remind myself that the breath goes to the Dan Tien. Breathing in this manor, not into the Dan Tien, diminishes the benefit of Qi Gong, reduces the circulation of Qi in the body.

To achieve maximum results when you perform your Qi Gong Ritual keep your focus on the breath, consciously draw the breath to the Dan Tien.
