Qi Gong is described as “Movement and Breath”. While practicing Qi Gong many people limit their focus of attention to the Movements. The Breath is ignored.
Proper breathing is necessary for you to have maximum benefit from your Qi Gong practice. Qi Gong is Movement AND Breath. Without proper breathing, your Qi Gong practice is a calisthenic exercise limiting the benefits of Qi Gong. It lacks the full benefits received with proper breathing.
Done with proper breathing, your Qi gong practice is super-charged.
A student of mine shared with me that he had been doing a lot of research about Qi Gong – the different forms, teachers, and available instructional videos. He was surprised to discover that none of the other sources he found discussed the breath or taught a breathing method to be used for a proper Qi Gong practice – except for my video “Qi Gong 18 Style for Health & Longevity.“
Is he correct? Am I the only one that teaches breathing?
